Wedding #1

After being in love with my girlfriend Lucile for 17 years, i asked her a few weeks ago if she wanted to become my wife. I guess it kind of came out of the blue, but she was delighted nevertheless (if I had realised how happy she was going to be, I would have proposed to her years ago).

The big question was: what were we going to wear? As fond followers of the stylish Dutch duo, we decided to stock up on clothes from the Viktor & Rolf's Love range for H&M. On the collection's opening day Lucile got up real early to queue at the oxford circus shop, she was almost first to get in, and managed to snap a wedding dress (she ended up being interviewed by newspapers and even got her full picture in the dress in one of them).

Of course we had a big party at BoomBox. Everyone was in great spirit and Lucile and her bridesmaids (all dressed-up in white) ended up dancing on the bar.
As usual I was playing last and picked up some of our favourites songs for a special party set (bootlegs of Madonna 'Get Together' and Black Strobe 'Italian Fireflies' as well as The Similou 'All This Love', Space Cowboy 'I Know What Girls Like'…).
I was quite nervous (was this my most important set ever?) but it all went fine. As I was cueing my last records, my BoomBox buddies Richard Mortimer and Matthew Stone grabbed me and lifted me onto the bar in order for me to spend that special moment with my wife-to-be.
So we danced together to Sunscreem 'Perfect Motion' and the very last track of the night Phoenix (one of our favourite band) 'If I Ever Feel Better'.
An amazing memory we'll carry with us forever…
